Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Library
Our Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Block Library has rich collection of books, journals and e-resources catering to students, research scholars and faculty members. Presently, over 39000+ books, 1200+ CDs/DVDsare possessed by the library access to more than 1078 online electronic journals. The library is automated having an online portal that can be easily accessed by the users. The library implemented IFET-ILMS which is an integrated Library Management System that supports all housekeeping operations of the library. There is a separate Digital Library having 20 computers running on high speed internet. The library system and staff is meticulously focused for providing comfortable, user friendly environment so as to enables learning and knowledge creation

Welcome to the Central Library
The Central Library, established in 1998 along with the founding of the college, is a cornerstone of learning and research. Relocated to the Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Block in 2008, it offers a vast collection of books and journals covering all aspects of engineering and technology, classified using the Dewey Decimal Classification (DDC) system for easy accessibility. Fully computerized and automated with Koha software integrated with Barcode Technology, the library provides an Online Public Access Catalogue (OPAC) to search for resources such as books, CDs, project reports, and previous year question papers. With an Open Access System and advanced features like CALIBRE-eBook management software and a DSpace Institutional Repository, the library caters to the diverse needs of students, researchers, and faculty.
The library provides a wide range of services to its users, including Book Lending, OPAC, Inter Library Loan, Reprographic, Internet, News Clipping, Reference, and Library Orientation services. Additional offerings include Article Alert, Help Desk Reference, Audio & Video, Students’ Textbooks, Book Reservation, and Mailing services, ensuring comprehensive support for academic and research needs. It also offers remote access to resources, enhancing self-learning opportunities.
Additionally, institutional memberships with DELNET, Springer Nature E-Journals, NDL, E-ShodhSindhu, and Shodhganga broaden access to global academic resources. With its modern facilities, user-centric services, advanced security, and a commitment to excellence, the Central Library is a dynamic hub of knowledge, fostering academic growth and innovation.
Digital Learning Centre
Digital Learning Centre (DLC) at Dr A.P.J Abdul Kalam Library provides access to technology and training to help users learn new digital skills and improve their digital literacy. DLCs can be a valuable resource for library patrons, especially those who may not have access to technology or who may be new to using computers and the internet.
Access to technology:
DLCs provide access to computers, internet access, and other digital tools that may not be available to patrons at home. This can help patrons to develop digital skills, access online resources, and complete tasks such as job searches or online learning. Digital literacy training: DLCs offer training programs and classes to help patrons improve their digital literacy skills. This can include classes on basic computer skills, internet safety, online research, and using digital tools such as email, social media, and productivity software.
Job readiness:
DLCs can offer job readiness training, including resume building, online job searches, and job application assistance. This can help patrons to develop the skills they need to succeed in today's job market.
Community outreach:
DLCs can serve as a hub for community outreach programs, including after- school programs, coding camps, and other technology-related programs. Digital Learning Centres can be an important resource for library patrons, providing access to technology and training that can help them to develop digital skills and improve their digital literacy.

Library computers have internet access and research resources. Black-and-white and color printing are available. Free WiFi for all devices.

We supply books and copies of books to other institutions, through the inter-library loans by DELNET.

Rules & Regulations
- Students/staff should scan their ID card in the E Gate Register scanner while entering into the library.
- The library users should possess their ID card while they are inside the library.
- Books will be issued only on production of Bar-coded ID card.
- All members of the library are entitled to produce their ID card when the library staff asks for checking.
- Uses of Mobile phones are not allowed inside the library.
- Complete silence is to be maintained inside the library. If conversation is necessary, that should be in low tone only.
- Personal belongings like files, folders, bags, jerkins, umbrella, issued books etc. are not allowed inside the library.
- Outside members and other college students are allowed on weekdays with a recommendation letter from their Head of Department or Institution. They must produce their ID with the letter.
- Students wearing shorts, paijama, night dresses, round neck and printed T-shirts etc. are not allowed inside the library. Formal dress code is to be allowed.
- The arrangement of chairs and other furniture in the reading area should not disturbed.
- The librarian reserves the right to cancel the membership of any member found misbehaving, abusing the library staff or behaving in an indecent manner.
Circulation Policy
- The books taken from the library are to be returned within 15 days or on or before the due date specified on the due date slip pasted in the front page of the books.
- While borrowing the book, the member must make sure that the book is in good condition and the page numbers are intact.
- The staff/students are entitled to return the books as and when they are called by the librarian.
- If a books is not returned when due, another book will not be issued.
- Reference books will be issued on Over-night issue.
- Non-book materials like CD and Floppy are also issued on Overnight issue.
- The borrower shall be responsible for any loss caused to the library documents borrowed.
- If a book is lost by the borrower, the librarian should be immediately informed in writing and the same should be traced and replaced within 15 days from the due date.
- If the borrower is not able to replace the book for the book lost within two weeks, they have to pay the cost of the book in three times. If a book is replaced, current edition of the book with bill will only be accepted.
- If the book/resource forms a part of a series/volume, the borrower will be charged for the replacement of the entire set.
- No user shall deface the library books/journals/back volumes and other non-book materials like CD/Floppy etc.
- Library resources are the nation’s assets and belong to all. All users are having the responsibility to protect the library resources against the wanton and willful-damage, mutilation, theft and other malpractices.
- Current Journals/Back volumes and Locker books are not issued for home reading. They are to be referred inside the library only.
- Users are allowed to take the photocopies of the required articles.
- While accessing the E-resources of the library, proper entries are to be made in the records of the library. Downloading of the information is also permitted
- Accessing unwanted and unnecessary information from the internet is strictly prohibited.
- Photocopying of full - book is not permitted.
