About Department


Electrical and Electronic Engineering is an exciting and dynamic field. EEE is a subject that naturally partners with other disciplines to open the whole new engineering avenues. The Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering started functioning in the year 1998. The B.E. degree program is designed to achieve a balance between depth of knowledge acquired through specialization and breadth of knowledge gained through exploration. The theme for the department is the development and use of Electrical & Electronics Engg., i.e. how to use computer hardware and software for the creation and extraction, transmission and distribution, searching and retrieval, presentation and enhancement, general usage and storage of information. Another area of use is the control and supervision of technical processes and systems, in industry as well as at home. At the department, we aim at understanding totality and interdependencies. We have research and teaching expertise in the traditional disciplines, such as computer communication and networking, theoretical computer science and software engineering, computer engineering and computer architecture, signal processing and automatic control, robotics and automation, and industrial electronics in general. An intensive course work ensures that the students are exposed to the latest technological developments taking place globally.

Program Outcomes

POs describe what students are expected to know or be able to do by the time of graduation from the program. At the time of their graduation, the B.E. Electrical and Electronic Engineering students will have the following abilities.

 a  Ability to apply knowledge of mathematics, science, and engineering to current technical concepts and practices in the core Electrical and Electronics Engineering.
 b  Ability to analyze, identify, formulate and solve simple engineering problems.
 c  Ability to design machines, circuits, components or process to meet desired needs within realistic constraints.
 d  Ability to conduct experiments, investigate and obtain solution for complex engineering problems and interpret data to provide valid conclusions.
 e  Ability to create, select and apply appropriate techniques, resources and use modern engineering tools, including prediction and modeling, to complex engineering activities, with an understanding of the limitations.
 f  Ability to understand the impact of engineering solutions in societal health, safety, legal and cultural issues and consequent responsibility relevant to professional engineering practice.
 g  Ability to understand the impact of engineering solutions in social and environmental contexts, and demonstrate knowledge needed for sustainable development.

Programme specific outcomes (PSOs)

PSO1 Graduates will be able to apply the fundamental knowledge gained through mathematics, science, electrical network and electronic circuits to analyze, design and test electrical engineering problems using modern tools and methodologies.
PSO2 Graduate will be able to analyze, design, implement and provide an engineering solution in the area of power systems, power electronics systems, instrumentation systems, communications systems, control systems, and computer systems.
PSO3Graduate will be able to provide solution to real time problems faced in High voltage engineering, Drives and control, Power quality in power sector and renewable energy systems.
